In this week’s Parashah, Parashat VaYeira, a Malach comes to Avraham and Sarah and tells them they will have a baby and Sarah reacts by laughing. The question is: why did she laugh? The Seforno explains that Sarah didn’t understand that she was getting a Nevu’ah. She thought the Malach was just an ordinary person giving her a Bracha. As an 89 year old woman, Sarah didn’t daven for kids because it was very unrealistic. She believed the only way she could get a kid was if she davened and Hashem answered her.
